Today I finalised the code for version 0.3 of the Serval Maps application.
Serval Maps is an application that provides a platform that supports collaborative mapping activities on Android powered smartphones. Data is exchanged between users of the Serval Maps application using the AdHoc Mesh network powered by the Serval Mesh software.
Changes include:
- Integration with the new Rhizome functionality in Serval Mesh (thanks lakeman)
- Various tweaks to the user interface to improve the User Experience
- Improve the display of contact information in the peer view activity
- Improve the way in which GPS updates are processed
It is also important for me to note that I was remiss in my last notification by not acknowledging the hard work that timelady did in the user interface refresh for the 0.3 release.
While still not ready for a wider audience, version 0.4 is expected to be the first widely released version, I’m proud to say that Serval Maps is moving along very nicely and is going in directions I didn’t even think of during the initial development as part of my honours thesis.
